When I started playing ‘dead space 3’ have they brought the fear factor back? Well when I played from beginning to end the answer is no. But that wasn’t that important as they made up for it with all the extra features plus co-op and the huge scale levels.
I have not completed the co-op level but what I have played so far was enough to overwhelm me. When I first heard about the co-op I got to admit I didn’t look forward to it and I said to myself I wasn’t going to get the game. But then I heard you can play single player too, then I watched the trailers and I had a change of heart, especially when I loved the 1st 2 games.
I love the fact that you can now create your own weapons. You can have 2 weapons in the one weapon. You can now have a flame unit with your pulse rifle etc plus much more. But you do need to collect scraps and other stuff to combine your weapons plus you can get 3 wee robots go collect parts for you. Then you get them at your workbench later on in the game. Also the fact you can dodge enemies with a roll was pretty impressive.
Even though the fear factor is not completely gone but mostly they are a few jumpy bits. The huge scale levels makes up for everything. The end boss was epic and most enjoyable. The storyline was basic but a great conclusion for Isaac Clarke and a great twist if you wait to the end credits.
So overall the game was more massive and the extra features were enough to thrill me. So I give the game a straight 10 out of 10.
